Management Accountant - £40k, Shoreditch
Overview:
A surging firm of Chartered Accountants with stunning modern offices are seeking a newly qualified ACCA,
CIMA or ACA Management Accountant with at least three years practice experience to join their dynamic team.
You get to lead one of the awesome delivery teams of 2/3 talented people and oversee your own portfolio of
start-up clients.
As a portfolio management accountant, you’re expected to get productive pretty quickly and will be assigned with your
own client portfolio and 2/3 person team from the get-go. As the leader in your team, you will have the responsibility of
being the decision maker and final stop for client communications and delivery. You will be handling a portfolio of
awesome tech start-ups who will look to you for advice and guidance on issues in all things accounting and finance.
Being technically capable is clearly important to us and whilst we have experts throughout the office to collaborate with,
you will be expected to have robust technical knowledge of all aspects of accounting - including management accounts,
VAT, payroll as well as having a basic understanding in further business and finance areas such as EMI, fundraising,
financial management, modelling, and the workings of a growing start-up.You will also have an understanding of
year-end statutory accounts and basic corporation tax.
You’ve probably got a minimum of 3 years previous experience of working in a UK firm of accountants, ideally a smaller firm
where a wide range of skills were needed. The ability to take the initiative to solve problems and a desire to continuously
learn is key.
You will oversee a team of 2/3 staff who are beginning or partway through their qualifications and will look to you for support,
guidance and mentoring as they improve their technical skills. You will be excellent at time management and will take
responsibility for overseeing all client requirements of the team.
Essential skills:

ACCA / CIMA qualified with minimum 3 years practice experience.

Client focused attitude.

Experience working with multiple clients and managing workflow to satisfy their needs

Excellent IT skills including Xero and Excel.

Ability to lead a client team and to inspire junior staff.

Delegate workload, ensure timely delivery of work and meet team KPIs.

Self-motivated with a drive to achieve and a passion to deliver top quality work

Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills.

Excellent communication skills - in person and written.

Outstanding attention to detail.

Experience of working with start-up companies and or SMEs, an interest in start-ups
and the added ingredient of personality would be terrific too.
